Dear Third Graders, I really cannot believe our school year is coming to an end! I am not exaggerating when I say it really feels like just yesterday that you all were walking through our door for the first time. We have made so many memories together, laughed together, been there for each other, supported each other and took care of each other. I have tried to find a way to keep you all in third grade again next year, but I'm afraid that just can't happen. I am excited for you to move on to fourth grade; you will love your fourth grade teachers and they are so lucky to have you! Dear Third Graders,
Today we got a chance to use OSMO. I enjoyed seeing you work in groups to solve the Newton challenges and tangram problems. I would like to know your thoughts on how you'd like to use Osmo again next week. What are some ideas you have? How could my students use it next year with some of the units we'll be studying? Did you enjoy Osmo? I hope you have a spectacular three day weekend! We are going to have a lot of fun next week! Love, Mrs. Shannon Third Graders,
What is the most interesting fact you have learned about big cats so far that you would like to share? Dear Third Graders,
Here you will find the instructions for classcraft. What are your thoughts? https://d3hz9u6nma34yy.cloudfront.net/game/pdf/6b8a5cf7-0245-4338-a52c-7abacf0cb87e.pdf Dear Third Graders, I hope you are enjoying our procedural text study. It seems like giving step by step instructions is easy, but it can surprisingly be tricky! What did you think was the hardest part of the "back to back" activity? Did your partner's drawing turn out exactly the way you described? When I was giving directions to Flynn, I realized I kept forgetting to tell him which side of the paper to draw on! Have a great three day weekend! Love, Mrs. Shannon Third Graders,
I am so excited about our unit on procedural text! I was amazed by your noticings when we dove into published pieces. Here is my first draft. After looking at our noticings what could I do to make it better? How to do an inside whip in roller derby. I am going to teach you how to do an inside whip in roller derby.
Warnings: Always wear a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. Avoid other skaters, do not run into them! It can be very dangerous! What are you going to write your procedural text piece about? Dear Third Grades,
Next week we will begin our math around the world project. You have six choices: Rio de Janeiro, Cape Town, New York City, Tokyo, Paris, or Sydney. Rio de Janeiro As you're making your decision, remember the goal is to spend as much of your $5,000 as possible and to also find activities that you would enjoy doing. Do you already have an idea of where you'd like to visit? I am having a tough time choosing between Cape Town, Rio and Tokyo! Have a great weekend!
