Dear Third Graders,
I cannot believe our school year is coming to an end. You will be on your way to fourth grade soon! We've had a great school year. We've laughed together and cried together. (It's ok to admit you cried when we read the end of Stone Fox. You know I did! :)) We've made a lot of memories this year. Some of the great memories I have with you all from this school year are: Playing buzz our field trip to Natural Bridge Caverns building land forms making infomercials for severe weather spending times with our kindergarten buddies our winter party Market Day cursive on a Monday! Pioneer day, publishing parties Mustang Mania book clubs our poetry cafe the football math and baseball math projects (which one did you like better?) the Tournament of Books Wayside School James and the Giant Peach the "peach party" in honor of Roald Dahl science day tracking the Iditarod mushers biome balls the planetarium visit We liked ice cream and guacamole... ..but we didn't like bananas. Out of My Mind compliment parties SAFELY buzzers Hubble 3D at the IMAX McPufferson, Rad Chad, Weevil Labeevil and all our GoNoodle friends ...and we're not even finished with the school year! Imagine all the great things we can add to this list over the next few days! I think my favorite memory from this school year was one of the first times you earned a compliment party. You chose your reward to be for me to bring Hailey to school so you could sing "Happy Birthday" to her right before first birthday. It was such a sweet moment and you know she loved being the center of attention. ;-) I am truly going to miss you next year. I wish you could stay in third grade a little longer! You will love being a fourth grader and your fourth grade teacher will love you!!! Promise you'll come back and visit me and my new group of third graders next year! Love, Mrs. Shannon

Today our class celebrated our compliment party by reading outside with our kindergarten buddies. It was a perfect day to sit outside and read. Thanks for joining us, Mrs. Carpenter's class! |
